Uptown Dallas: Dallas’ Trendy Area

Uptown Dallas is the hub for city chic. It is the place where you park your car and stroll to the nearest hip destination. It’s where you find ultra-trendy hotels, condos and restaurants, and the place where you likely work within minutes from where you live. It’s Uptown Dallas and it’s fantastic.

Pedestrian-Friendly

Uptown Dallas is known as the Pedestrian Friendly section of Dallas. Most of the buildings here are fairly new, giving this area of Dallas a distinctive, modern feel. Because Uptown Dallas is considered “dense,” it is quite easy to see why it is the place to be to simply park your car and walk.

There are literally hundreds of establishments, all within walking distance of one another, in Uptown Dallas, including office buildings, high-rise condominium buildings, apartment complexes, retail centers and high-end hotels.

Often identified as a “mixed-use development,” Uptown Dallas is where the idea of “live, work and play”
really takes shape. In short, it is home to many urbanites who want the luxury of living, working and playing in one space.

Luxury Living

Uptown Dallas has become a very popular place for Dallas professionals to live, thanks to the various high-end condo buildings built here over the last decade. In addition, the many luxury shops and distinctive restaurants cater to the upper-class tastes of these professionals. However, it’s not only professionals who have chosen to call Uptown Dallas home. This area is also home to empty-nesters and families, too, who also desire the dynamic feeling and conveniences afforded by urban living.

A Night on the Town

Even those who don’t live or work in Dallas’ Uptown District most certainly find themselves here when it comes time to play. This area of the city is known for its exciting bars, restaurants and clubs and, as a result, it is quite typical to see Uptown bustling on any warm evening.

West Village, for example, is an area of Uptown that is centered around Uptown’s Main Street. McKinney Avenue boasts the arts of Dallas and the West Village Shopping Center is the place to be for the best in urban shopping.
