Plano’s Top Five Communities to Live In
There are so many reasons to Love Plano. This rapidly growing city boasts a thriving, dynamic economy, thanks to the many corporation headquarters located here, including JCPenney, Dr. Pepper, Frito-Lay and Alcatel. It also features an award-winning school system, plenty of parks and open spaces, and easy access a number of major roadways and regional airports.
In fact, Plano has been recognized on a national level by a number of sources for being an exceptional city, including CNN Money, who ranked Plano as a top place to live in the United States in 2004. In addition, Plano is the only city to have earned the distinction of having a “AAA” Bond Rating with the country’s top bond rating companies.
It is no wonder, then, why Plano boasts such fantastic communities. Here are our favorite five Plano communities (in no particular order):
- Deer Field – Deer Field is a family friendly community that features an ideal, central location and 733 single-family homes. This community is located within the highly regarded Plano Independent School District, thereby making it ideal for families, and is also located just minutes from a number of shopping and dining destinations, including the Stonebriar Mall. It is also located just 25 minutes from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and downtown Dallas, making it an ideal place to call home for many Dallas professionals.
- The Estates of Russell Creek – The Estates of Russell Creek features 850 homes and is situated close to the Dallas North Tollway and the Legacy Park business corridor. The residents of the Estates of Russell Creek are afforded a number of fantastic community amenities, including two light tennis courts, two playgrounds, two swim clubs, and plenty of green spaces.
- Cambridge Place – Cambridge Place consists of just 254 luxury homes and is minutes from a number of major highways, including Interstates 75 and 121. The community is built around Capstone Park, a lovely park that features pristine green spaces, playgrounds and walking trails. Cambridge Place is often chosen, not only for its luxury homes, but also because it is served by the highly acclaimed Plano Independent School District.
- Willow Bend – Willow Bend features more than 1,700 homes in the West Plano area. Some of the luxury amenities afforded to the residents of Willow Bend include: access to the Willow Bend Polo and Hunt Club, the Gleneagles Country Club, and the Gleneagles Athletic Club. Other community amenities include a gated entrance, a number of neighborhood parks, hiking and biking trails and picturesque ponds.
- Bent Tree – Bent Tree is one of Plano’s finest communities and was awarded by “D” Magazine in May 2001 as one of the most desirable places to live in Dallas. Bent Tree is popular among city professionals, as it is just minutes from the Dallas North Tollway. Although it is located in the far northeast corner of Plano, students here still attend the highly acclaimed Plano Independent School District. This master-planned community features over 2,000 homes.
