Fort Worth Summertime Activities
Fort Worth summertime activities are varied and super fun! Whether you want to soak up the sun and head outdoors, or stay in the air-conditioned confines of a theater or museum, your options for Fort Worth summertime activities are virtually endless!
Here are some of our favorites:
- Fort Worth Stockyards – The Wild West is alive and well at the Fort Worth Stockyards. Catch a rodeo in the Cowtown Coliseum or watch your very first Wild West show, complete with a mock gunfight. While you’re there, stay to eat at one of the many restaurants and browse the fun shops.
- Billy Bob’s – If you want to experience the most famous bar in Texas, you must head to Billy Bob’s! Also known as the world’s largest “honky tonk” bar, Billy Bob’s is truly an experience. From live bull riding on the weekends to music concerts by some of country’s best known artists, such as Willie Nelson and Charlie Daniels, Billy Bob’s is about as honky tonk as you can get! Head to the dance floor and get your groove on, or take free dance lessons there every Thursday night.
- Fort Worth Zoo – If you want to catch the splendor the Fort Worth Zoo, head there in the morning, when the weather is still manageable, and set your sights on a few of the many outstanding exhibits found here, including the World of Primates, the Cheetos Cheetahs exhibit and the Meerkat Mounds exhibit.
- Sundance Square – Sundance Square is a great place for the entire family. As downtown Fort Worth’s shopping and entertainment area, you can be sure to find everything from a movie theater to street acts and fantastic restaurants.
- Burger’s Lake – Burger’s Lake is the place to go to cool off on those steamy Fort Worth summer days! This 30-acre park features a one-acre, spring-fed lake that is perfect for taking a dip. Other features of this lake include two sandy beaches, six diving boards, a 20-foot slide and even a 25-foot trapeze!
- Log Cabin Village – Nineteenth century Texas comes alive at Log Cabin Village. From the authentic log homes to the blacksmith shop and one-room school house, Log Cabin Village consists of nine structures that date back to the mid-1800s.
